Amethyst Marine Services is a Georgetown,GUYANA based Crewing/Manning Agency which was founded in 1997 and is currently managed by a UK educated and trained ex Merchant Navy Officer with 18 years Sea service on Tankers, OBOs and Bulk Carriers. Primary business is the provision of Crew Manning Services to the International Shipping Industry. Recruitment, Training, Supply and deployment of our personnel Worldwide forms an integral part of our daily operations.
In recent years our business of supplying Riding Maintenance teams onboard various types of vessels have been steadily growing. Our strong point in this area consists mainly of our teams of highly skilled and experienced Welders,Fitters,Tank/Bilge/Funnel Cleaners and Maintenance crews. Pipe,Plate,Engine and Deck area maintenance and upgrade services are also provided. We have in the past and continue to supply teams of Electricians,AC Technicians,Engine and Deck Fitters,Cleaners and Painters especially to the Cruise Industry during routine Wet and Dry Docking operations at Curacao,Fort Lauderdale,Port Everglades and Freeport Bahamas. Agency support services and Ship Chandlery is also offered to some of our Clients on their specific request for assistance in these areas.

1. Very Low or nil repatriation/embarkation expenses for vessels operating in the Caribbean,North Coast South America,Central America,Florida and the US Gulf. Using Miami or Panama as a hub, Air travel expenses can be greatly reduced for owners of vessels operating in this area as opposed to using crews out of the Far East,Europe or South asia.
2 .English speaking crew with international sailing and working experience with various nationalities including Filipinos,Indians and Eastern European. Guyanese Seafarers have for many years successfully manned ships with Norwegian,British,Canadian and other European managements.
3 . All crew fully certificated and compliant with requirements of the IMO STCW 78/95 convention.
4. Our Agency has a proven track record of providing experienced,well trained and certified seafarers to the international shipping industry.

6. Ease of application and expedited issuance for US C1/D visas if required for our crew.
7. We will undertake all travel and joining arrangements for our personnel including Agency notification,Customs and Immigration formalities for Guyana and within the Caribbean and Worldwide. Airtickets booked and ticketed over weekends and holidays worldwide.
8. Crew wages and conditions can be negotiated but will not exceed any current crew remuneration levels - it is our sincere endeavour to keep our personnel competitive and within a reasonable costing framework well within current market wages rates.
9. Crew mobilized and deployed at short notice and over week ends and holidays with the minimum of delay and bureaucratic emcumbrances.
10. All of our personnel are carefully screened with rigid background checks in support of their character, work ethics and attitude.Full Medical screening including drug and Alcohol testing is effected on all of our ranks prior to employment.
